Maisha Khanom: Solicitor
Maisha is our specialist family lawyer. She advises on all areas of private family law with a particular interest in complex financial affairs.
Maisha completed her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree in 2017, and subsequently finished the Legal Practice Course in 2019. Throughout Maisha’s academic years, she obtained various awards including a “Best Performance” award and was certificated a “Legal Research Award” by Westlaw UK for her outstanding research skills.
Maisha started her career with Connaughts in April 2018 and qualified as a solicitor in March 2022. She now has a diversified workload of family matters, including but not limited to advising on intricate financial disputes (with international elements), pre/post-nuptial agreements and associated divorce proceedings. She advises on multifaceted legal issues and regularly conducts extensive legal research to get her clients the best results.
Maisha is confident, reliable, and efficient. Some of Maisha’s recent work highlights include:
- Taking instructions for and advising on a complex public child matter in the Court of Appeal. Maisha successfully assisted a client with appealing against an unlawful decision of a lower Family Court, which is now a reported case in England & Wales
- Regularly advising high net worth clients in relation to financial settlement negotiations. These include discussions in relation to ring-fencing, contributions to the family and non-disclosure of assets
- Representing both mothers and fathers in child contact disputes which also have international elements
In her spare time, Maisha enjoys getting involved in charitable work. In 2017, she went abroad to Zimbabwe and spent several months there helping orphans and vulnerable children.
